The Brazilian Guarantees Agency (ABGF) participated on Friday (10) in a bilateral meeting between Brazil and Germany to exchange experiences on the mechanisms for granting export credit insurance.

The meeting was attended by officials from the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy of Germany (BMWi) and representatives of the insurance company Euler Hermes (EH). On the Brazilian side, in addition to the ABGF, representatives from the Secretariat of International Affairs of the Ministry of Finance (Sain/MF) also participated in the meeting.

According to the head of the division responsible for BMWi’s trade promotion instruments, Hans-Joaquim Henckel, the meeting represented a good learning opportunity for both sides. “It is very helpful for us to have the vision and the perspective on how you work here in Brazil, which gives us the opportunity to better understand some important issues related to our activities,” he said.

Among the topics discussed at the meeting were information on the economic performance of Latin American countries, the provision of guarantees for financing infrastructure projects, the offer of export credit insurance for the micro, small and medium enterprises, and others.

ABGF was represented at the meeting by the CEO, Marcelo Franco, by the Operations Director, Fernando Vitor dos Santos Sawczuk, and by superintendent Rodrigo Albanesi and by analyst Adam Baqui, both from the Risk Office.
