The CEO of ABGF, Marcelo Franco, participated in the 3rd Annual Meeting of the Heads of Export Credit Agencies of the BRICS countries group, held in Hangzhou, China from 12 to 14 June 2017.  The meeting was hosted by the Chinese ECA SINOSURE and attended by the heads of all the BRICS ECAs (ABGF – Brazil, EXIAR – Russia, ECGC – India, SINOSURE – China, and ECICSA – South África).

In addition to issues related to the export credit insurance and guarantee industry, a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation (MOU) between the BRICS export credit agencies and the New Development Bank (NDB) was signed, with the dual purpose of bringing the entities technically closer and prospecting business opportunities and risk mitigation in projects of common interest.

In the event, each agency presented business developments in their markets, products, and current challenges and opportunities so as to share their practices, processes and approaches to the market.

Common topics related to official support using export credit insurance and guarantees, its trends and future challenges were also discussed.
