ABGF participated in the 2017 Brazil Investment Forum

ABGF participated in the 2017 Brazil Investment Forum, held on May 30 and 31 in São Paulo. It was an international meeting, with the presence of several business leaders from Brazil and abroad, as well as federal, state and municipal authorities.

The event, promoted by the Ministry of Planning, Development and Management, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), with the support of APEX and various sectors of the Federal Government, was a success and brought together international leaders and global CEOs from various sectors ff the economy.

It is a pioneering event to attract investments in Brazil, as evidenced by the participation of Brazilian and world businesses, with the presence of more than two thousand people in two days of intense meetings and lectures. The focus was on the promotion of new business and international investments in Brazil, addressing topics such as the economic environment, reforms in the country, financial investment climate, financing, infrastructure and more.

The opening ceremony of the 2017 Brazil Investment Forum was attended by the President of the Federative Republic of Brazil and the President of the IDB, as well as the Minister of Planning, Development and Management, the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and various authorities, such as the Presidents of the Federal Senate and the Chamber of Deputies, the Governor of the State of São Paulo and the Mayor of the City of São Paulo.

ABGF was responsible for the Parallel Session “Insurance and Guarantee – Infrastructure and Investment Opportunities”, held on 31 May 2017 and attended by the presidents of ABGF, IRB BRASIL Re, J. Malucelli and SWISS RE, as well as the Director of Infrastructure of MARSH/AD.

The president of ABGF, who moderated the panel, praised MPDM’s initiative, in particular SEAIN, IDB and APEX, for the organization and success of 2017 BIF, reiterating his acknowledgment of the presence of the business leaders attending the Parallel Session: “Insurance and Guarantees – Infrastructure and Investment Opportunities “.

“There are many opportunities for investment in the infrastructure sector and, according to ABDIB data, the potential for investment in infrastructure in the next 10 years will be around R$ 310 billion per year. Thus, ABGF’s partnership with the insurance and reinsurance sector is fundamental. ABGF is ready to cooperate with the market and provide covers that fill the market gaps identified by economic agents.
