The Brazilian Guarantees Agency (ABGF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding on technical cooperation with the Nippon Export Investment Insurance (NEXI) on Wednesday (October 4). The referred MoU was signed in Belgrade, by the CEO of ABGF, Marcelo Franco, during the Annual General Meeting of the Berne Union (an International and Investiment Association) hosted by the Serbian Export Credit and Insurance Agency (AOFI).

“The agreement will allow us to set up an agreement for export promotion and co-operation in business opportunities and in projects for Japanese and Brazilian exporters in third countries or in regional markets”, highlighted the ABGF CEO. The agencies will work together in joint transactions, fostering the export credit business, and in legal aspects whenever is required. Studies on individual projects could be done on a case-by-case basis depending on the interest of the agencies in the transactions.

As an organization of the Ministry of Economy, Commerce and Industry of Japan, NEXI conducts export credit activities under a medium term exposure of US$ 45 billion, having raised US$ 114 million of capital in 2014.
